On Monday, Dec. 24, 2018 friends, family and neighbours joined the BFA sanctuary to welcome the “Five Signs of Christmas.” Vickie H. played a Christmas prelude of praise as each entered this place of worship. Following a brief introduction and welcome prayer where the theme of the Biblical Signs of the Messiah were mentioned, the congregation began worship with “Silent Night” Thanks to Eugene and Vickie for the trumpet duet introduction of this all time favorite along with Fern on piano. Interestingly, this song was first introduced exactly 200 years ago and was warmly received. The BFA children's Sunday School performed “It's about the Cross” while Lucy H. read of the “Sign of the Virgin”. Bruce R, Becky J, Dave J, Eugene S. Wally G, and led the congregation in Hope was born that Night. Timothy M shared the “Sign of the Swaddling Clothes” while Vickie played a melody of “Lo, How a Rose and Away in a Manger”. Ryan, Angie, Finn and Bennett shared the “Sign of Bethlehem” which was followed by Rod and Shannon doing a duet of violin and flute “Sing a Song of Bethlehem” Joe and Joanne C shared the “Sign of a Child” following which Hannah, Angie, and Ryan then led the congregation with “O Holy Night”. Ryan H. shared the “Sign of Jonah” following which the congregation sang “Midnight Clear” Marc D. closed the time with prayer, and around fifty goodie treat bags were distributed to the children and children at heart. Thank is also extended to Ted B and Lyndsey S for all their help on sound and power-point.
